Bashar al-Assad must realize the developments in a realistic and new way and feel how different compare to 2015. Meanwhile he has to realize that from international views are now completely different from past consensus. The fact is that Iran’s weak support has led to a strong opposition in the country.
Although there are new regional agreements between the United States and Israel, even Arab countries are all convinced of the need to end the role of armed factions in Arab countries, but the rejections are still in favor of the opposition because they are very shameful. The main weakness of the Arab countries’ position is due to the Arab consensus to break the dignity and role of Iran in Syria, as happened in Lebanon.
What is new, however, is that the Russians and Turks seem to have a different view: taking advantage of Iran’s weak support for Syria and preoccupying itself with its own affairs.
Meanwhile, the Russians alone cannot help Syria as in the past, and Bashar al-Assad was not convinced of the gap with the Turks that if there is no understanding and coordination, Turkey will put such a card on the negotiating table.
Therefore, Turkey quickly began to deploy those who initially guarantee the security of the northern Syrian border and want to create a barrier against Kurdish attacks to protect Turkey.
The Russians’ slowness is due to Bashar’s disobedience because Russia had advised the Syrian president to reach an understanding with the Turks and settle the situation with them.
That is why the Syrian forces withdrew and left their positions because the Syrian forces thought that the Persian and Russian positions would be quick, which was not the case.
