After the collapse of bipolar system and end of the Cold War, a new set of theories emerged from geopolitical theories, resulting in a fundamental change in the common and prominent views of geopolitical science. After this era, the theories of this science, by embodying concepts such as nationality and identity and based on cultural characteristics such as geopolitical science, have made the concept of geo-culturalism as an important reason for their views as a new perspective.
Geo-culturism as a wide area of soft power
Geo-culturism has become a source of many changes in today’s world and beginning to appearance of the culture as a wide area of soft power to reach a position of hegemony. Geo-culturism by insisting on common symbolism, common belief, common interest, common language, common religion, characteristics and geographical importance alike, common history, civilization and ethnicity, it makes a national unity and consensus between the parties. Thus it creates a larger framework than framework that international borders have set or imposed through the sovereign states. Geo-culturism is a strong link to international politics and countries. It is a concept that has countless ability in anti-formation of international politics and it is a strong card for states and political, civil and environmental movements in regional and global conflicts.
Soft Power Parameters
1.Science: – If in the past military forces, power or strategic positions were the main reasons for a country’s authority, today they can overcome on many of their obstacles develop their countries and show their national power to other global nations through raising knowledge and developing advanced technology. Among all strategic parameters, information and knowledge development is one of the most powerful parameters for gaining power. That is why states at the regional and global levels are constantly trying to display their knowledge and scientific power.
2.Culture: – Culture is a soft part of the civilized device that consists of faiths, information, social ceremonies, behavior and the habits of a nation. In order to develop language and literature, making ceremonies and create culture transactions, show a good view of themselves, use the culture for diplomatic purposes and determine strategies and accurate policies, erasing negative views of other nations, respecting public opinion, producing and publishing media products, and how culture is used.
3.Ideology: – Ideology is a form of thought and belief that can be applied to the realities of life. Strong countries are always trying to develop and build their own ideological formats through peaceful means of soft warfare. For example, we can refer to liberalism in the United States, which has been able to use it globally and provide global hegemony for itself.
Geo-culturism, soft power and soft warfare, especially for nations that are stateless and have incomplete political sovereignty, are an important opportunity to protect and protect political, national and cultural statutes and even to organize hegemony. This important link between politics and pursuit of interest requires detailed planning and strategy so that we can try to establish and achieve our national interests and human rights in the absence of modern war technology and closed geopolitics in Kurdistan.
