After three years of the south Kurdistan referendum for independence, we discuss about four countries’ reactions and attitudes opposite the Kurdistan referendum process.
There is no doubt the political and economic situations got worst after the referendum while there wasn’t any guarantee about the upcoming Kurdistan situation, but before the referendum, Maliki’s government has cut the Kurdistan budget and tens of issues made by the Iraqi consecutive governments as well. All these troubles have to concentrate on and the conflicts among the political parties in the south of Kurdistan.
Before the referendum process and the 16th of October treachery, the majority of the Kurdistan political parties made an agreement in Dokan for yes, most of the political leaders voted for yes and they declared as a patriotic responsibility to say yes for the referendum.
In my opinion, the Kurdistan Democratic Parity’s (KDP) indifferent opposite the psychology of identifying the Kurdistan political parties and interior problems inside the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) members were the reason for what would happen.
We all knew Iran, Turkey and Iraq were against referendum, particularly, after the collapsing Saddam regime and fixing federalism and Material (140). It is better to focus on the reactions of Arabs, Turks, Persians, Arab Sunni and Shia responses; I take Iran as a sample, Iran seriously opposed the referendum of Kurdistan in the realm of military, diplomacy, economy and culture even their elite authors criticized the referendum process and the former Kurdistan president Masoud Barzani.
The thing that gave us a lonely feeling wasn’t America which left us, weren’t the Turkish and Iranian threats, it was the Kurdish educated views against the referendum in Iran, what a great frustration when the seculars and well-educated people scold the referendum process as Qasim Sulaimani and his fellows.
However, among the cultured people in Iran like journalists, instructors supported self-right determination and referendum; one of those brave voices was Said Fqhia Rawazi.
