“In memory of Martyr Hujam Soorchi”
“ISIS; Discourse of Terrorism, Kurds and Orientalism”
The growth of ISIS was a shock to the whole world, but we as Kurds and the powerful countries as the determiners of the world political pole did not know what the background and context of ISIS, where it came from and to what extend the traditional religious society are ready for such an explosion. After the incident 11 September under Bush administration, the United States indeed convinced all its European allies that al-Qaeda and bin Laden were the greatest threat to Western civilization. Above all, American and European values, the whole of Western culture, political, social and economic structures, and the whole of Western civilization in general, in fact, even if we look at this side of the political Islamic ideology in its al-Qaeda form accepts no other way to survive in a multicolored world than to reject, kill and destroy the other. Therefore, since 2001, the discourse of terrorism has become the dominant discourse of all major media and political trends in the United States and the West, and accordingly, it has covered Islamic and Arab countries. Many books and articles have been published on it around the world. The discourse of terrorism was also backed by Western thinkers and was extensively theorized, seeing and discussing a strong link between political Islam, conservatism, religious violence, and terrorism.
In this division, the West and the United States become the world of darkness and evil, and Islamic and spiritual values become the world of light. Obviously, these are two distinct poles of value and represent a metaphorical and abstract subject, but in reality, from the perspective of al-Qaeda as the mother of ISIS, most Muslim countries are under the rule of pagans and must be destroyed. In this regards for a nation like Kurds whose children because of the occupation, division and confusion, they have been killed even within al-Qaeda and ISIS. The equation was broken much more cruelly, unscrupulously and tragically, ISIS, which was a combination of most Muslim and non-Muslim nations and even Russians, Chechens and Americans, they addressed the Kurds as their main enemy and a Kurdish minority.
To deepen this separation and the seeds of division, for example, the videos released by ISIS show several of them wearing Kurdish clothes and slaughtering prisoners with daggers and making headless speeches against Kurdish leaders and the Peshmerga forces. In the example of the martyrdom of Hujam Soorchi, they say It turned out that the person who martyred him was a Kurd himself. This was a symbolic scenario and conspiracy to plant the seeds of separation and chaos among the Kurds.
Example of martyrdom of Hujam Surchi when you look at his immaculate and Kurdish face, you think that a pure angel is looking at the camera of the monsters and preparing himself to die for the sake of a promise he made to Kurdistan and the national land. This is a simple picture and these simple expressions for a moment of greatness and pride. Therefore, we must glorify such tragic and glorious events in our cultural policy with dozens of films, novels and collections of stories. So that the world knows who defeated the legend of ISIS and which cultures, countries and forces benefited from the rise of ISIS and the sacrifices of the Kurds again and sacrificed all human values to achieve their inhuman and incorruptible goals. The incident of martyrdom of Hujam Soorchi was as dark and terrible as it was glorious and great. This incident must be recorded in our memory forever and we must remind future generations to restore the honor of patriotism, struggle and courage Kurdish men and Kurdistan.
