On Sep 13, 2023 in the continuation of its activities, (Chawy Kurd Center for Political Development) organized a panel for two university professors (Dr. Hardi Mahdi) and (Yasin Taha), entitled (The role of sectarians in Iranian and Iraqi politics on the Kurds).
The panel was attended by a selection of university professors and intellectuals:
Dr. Hardi Mahdi, in his article, discussed in detail the role of religion and sectarianism in the political structure and cultural movement of Iran throughout history. Additionally he highlighted the role of Shiite religion in Iranian state policy. He spoke about the position of the Kurds within that sect.
In his speech, Yasin Taha discussed the role and position of sectarianism among the Shiite community in Iraq and the influence of the Marja’a and political thought of the leaders of the sect on the direction of the Shiite political movement in Iraq viewpoint. He spoke to the believers and politicians of this sect about the Kurds, the Kurdish cause in Iraq and the way of relations between the communities in Iraq, and discussed the future of this issue in the future.
Then the participants presented their views, discussions and developments, the topics were enriched and different aspects of the topic were discussed.
