Siaband was born in Slivan before his born his father was passed away and he was deprived of his mother’s sympathy additionally. Then, his uncle whose name was Mohammad took the responsibility of his education and growing up.
His uncle was the headman of the village. Siaband was being proud of his uncle’s position even he enforced his playmate to bring pieces of stuff and goods to him like egg, chicken, etc. then the children were scared and did everything for him because of his uncle’s position. When his uncle realized the matter assaulted and battered him, ultimately Siaband decided to leave his uncle then he will stabilize in Amar Aga highland Sipane Mountains. One day during riding his horse he saw a girl who was sitting under a tent then he adored the girl immediately the girl’s name was Xaj. Xaj had seven brothers all of them accepted Siaband to be her a husband.
One day Xaj saw 12 mountain goats, one male had 12 horns stroked a female one when she saw Siaband, she narrated the story to Siaband then Siaband decided to go and defeat the male one, he said no one stronger than me, he attacked the male goat but Siaband lost the battle, he fell on a furze finally the goat killed Siaband.
There are many authors have narrated this epic but in various ways like using different names, most of them mentioned his name as (Siamand). This epic has published many times, for instance, the priest Bogart in 1884 in Stockholm, both Zain Alabdin and Ahmed Aras in 1993, Ronny War in 2011 and so on. Thorough all the narrators no one has a concerted improvement about the location and the real-time of the epic.
Some of them say Xaj was Amar Aga’s daughter while anther says she was Taimur King’s daughter. Both characters have a great reputation in Kurdish history, Taimur king was fought against the Ottoman power in the second half of the 18th century. According to the information, there is no admissible evidence about the exact time of happening the epic of Xaj and Siaband.
