On August 14, 2024 Chawy Kurd Center for Political Development organized a panel for Mrs. (Payman Ezadin) lawyer and former member of the Kurdistan Parliament, entitled (Amendment of the Personal Status Law by the Iraqi Parliament, Comments and Remarks).
In the panel, which was attended by a selection of members of the Iraqi parliament, lawyers, university professors, lawyers and human rights activists, focused on the issue of amending the personal status law by the Shiite community in the Iraqi parliament. They discussed the social and legal consequences of the amendment on Iraqi society and families, and the constitutional safeguards that the Kurdistan Region can benefit from the damages of this amendment and protect itself, as well as the risks of this amendment on human rights was done.
Finally, the participants discussed the topic in detail and vital comments were presented.
